Noor Mahnun Mohamed,
Painter, Lecturer and Arts Manager, Rimbun Dahan Art Residency

Award- winning artist and painter Noor Mahnun fondly remembers her father's weekend painting sessions. Although she was too young to understand much, she saw those moments as their bonding time.
art centres and universities, before finally settling down as Arts Manager at Rimbun Dahan. In 2008 and earlier this year, she helped curate the Art For Nature Exhibition in aid of WWF-Malaysia, raising over RM600000 in funds. "The exhibition was an opportunity for artists to give back to the community through their works. I was amazed and humbled to see large , expensive pieces being donated for charity, despite the global economic slowdown," she says.
Keeping this in mind, she makes an effort to have a combination of senior artists and newbies at each exhibition to give them more exposure. "The art scene in Malaysia is very vibrant, but we need to keep cultivating new talent and polishing our skills." She hopes to be able to create more interaction between artist in time to come.
